The time has come for me to close out my beautiful blog, I know it has been relatively short-lived however due to work commitments I am unable to dedicate enough time to it as I would like. I will however be writing over at my friend Paddy's Blog SlothBoogie sporadically so please be sure to bookmark this as your new go-to place for all things music and arts.

Mark Ronson unleashes the official video of his synth-heavy tune entitled “Bang Bang Bang”. The track was co-written with the Kaiser Chiefs’ Nick Hodgson and features the talents of rapper Q-Tip and electro artist MNDR. The song can be found on the producer’s forthcoming album, Record Collection. Here’s the scoop:

‘Bang Bang Bang’ takes place on a TV show in an unknown country in an unknown time period with an unknown cast of characters. In fact, it’s a lot like ‘Lost,’ but with a better ending. The only thing you need to know is that somewhere in this world, Q-Tip, MNDR and myself are performing the most exciting song ever. And for 3:50, people from all over the galaxy are having the time of their life.

The Creators Project

The Creators Project is a new network dedicated to the celebration of creativity and culture across media, and around the world. At a time in the history of the arts where digital technologies have revolutionized distribution, democratized access, and completely re-imagined the scope and scale with which an artist can create a vision and reach an audience, The Creators Project is a completely new kind of arts and culture channel for a completely new kind of world.

The Creators Project has two mandates: on one hand it’s a modern day media channel that we will continually identify and celebrate the work of visionary artists wherever they are. On the other hand it is also a content creation studio, an arts foundation of sorts that will facilitate the production and dissemination of new work with these artists and their collaborators.

The distribution of the content takes plac at www.thecreatorsproject.com, via a variety of other media including print, television and mobile, and, importantly, also through a series of exhibition events and performances that will roll-out in different urban centers around the world the summer of 2010 and beyond. The Creators Events series begins this June in New York City with a collection of curated artworks and installations, screenings, a panel discussion and dozens of performances by creators from all over the world. The series then moves to London, Sao Paulo, and Seoul, and culminates in Beijing with a huge 3-day Creators exposition in September.

In a lot of different ways, the last decade really belonged to old narratives from the Twentieth Century. Launching now, in 2010, The Creators Project aims at being nothing less than the first spark of creativity that gives life to the hopes and aspirations of the Twenty-First Century

There are a myriad of amazing 'Creators' up there so far, highlights for me are Phoenix, Richie Hawtin (below) and also today's update is from French DJ Brodinski.

Be sure to check out and support the project, London's launch event is July 17th and details have emerged about their first US launch - The FREE New York City kickoff event will take place at Milk Studios on June 26th, featuring performances by Interpol, Mark Ronson, Die Antwoord, The Rapture, Sleigh Bells, Gang Gang Dance, Salem, Neon Indian, and some “very special guests.

Clancy & Build

If you've been here before you'll know I'm a big fan of Clancy's remixes - driving bass and magical synth are pretty much always a winner in my book, but especially when Clancy's wizardry is behind the controls.

And as if he wasn't busy enough already organising parties, playing gigs at some of the country's best underground nights and festivals, Rich Clancy has teamed up with Anglo/Aussie producer Build.

Having spent the last year or so working on their own productions and having admired each other’s work from-a-far, Clancy & Build have come together to produce some perfect 80s inspired synth bombs. With their first piece of work together a remix of Yeasayer's 'One', the track combines arp and live bass with classic analogue synth stabs bringing everything together. It was always going to be hard to make this song any better than the original however the pair have pulled it right out of the bag creating what is possibly the best of both their work so far. A DEFINITE summer anthem and I really hope this song gets Clancy and Build the recognition that they really deserve with this one. Post 'One' remix they are moving onto remixes for Chew Lips and Annie, both designed for that perfect summer-sun-synth sound.

It’s been way too long since I’ve heard something new (and enjoyable) from Norman Cook. I’ve always enjoyed listening to his music, especially the ones that weren’t the radio singles. He came out with a Collab album under the name The Brighton Port Authority but there has been no true Fatboy Slim music since Palookaville in 2004. And that’s just too long. Cook’s released another album this year in collaboration with David Byrne as well as a bunch of guest vocalist. I have not heard anything from it, probably because it just hasn’t done well.

DEX PISTOLS is the unit made up of DJ MAAR and DJ DARUMA.

DJ MAAR belongs to the label NITELIST MUSIC which is run by one of Japan's top DJs, DJ EMMA. Until now they have done a lot of remixing and producing. Some of their best works are Redemption Song done under the RASROCK name and Sunday Morning, which was recorded for a Walkman's 25th anniversary. Also DJ MAAR was chosen to make the very first mix CD for AgeHa Vol.00. Ageha is one of the biggest clubs in Tokyo that's packed every weekend. Needless to say, making their first CD was a very big honor. Now he is one of the top DJ's in Tokyo, which is the setting for many fierce DJ battles.

DJ DARUMA is the designer of ROC STAR, an affiliate of HECTIC which is the most charismatic brand in the Tokyo fashion scene. He also is a member of the dance team DIGITAL JUNKEEZ and designs CD covers for the unit RATHER UNIQUE, who is organized by the popular Japanese group EXILE.

Working as a DJ, designer and dancer, he has a big influence on popular street culture. DJ unit DEX PISTOLS, play not only Tokyo (Ageha, Womb etc.) but also other countries in Asia and Europe, using 3 turntables, 2 CDJs, effects and samplers their combination of HOUSE, HIPHOP, ROCK, TECHNO, BREAKS, DUB and ELECTRO make a totally original style and their original perspective and musical reconstructions place them at the forefront of the dance music movement.

Beni’s May Mixtape

Hopefully by now you'll know about Clock Opera, they've been on the scene remixing for somewhere in the region of the last 12 months. For proof of their progress over the last year, look no further than new single "A Piece of String", out next month on new French imprint Maman. My favourite track from them to date, it finds the group at their absolute best as frontman Guy Connelly's haunting vocals take centerstage while a wire sharp synth riff cascades back and forth across a melange of chopped up guitar and strings samples. Coming off like Antony & The Johnsons collaborating with Four Tet, it's something strange and wonderful and entirely their own, and just one of many reasons they're one of the most exciting acts to grace my musical radar in ages.

Faded Paper Figures are an American 'Indie Pop Electronica' band from Los Angeles. FPF are known for their electro-organic sound often compared to bands like Weevil, The Postal Service, Belle and Sebastian, and Morrissey. There are three members, R. John Williams, Kael Alden and Heather Alden. They have released one album entitled 'Dynamo' back in2008 and their second album, 'New Medium' is released today.

Villa Nah are a Finnish duo who seem to get everything right — sublimely so — on their debut album, 'Origin'. Burnt offerings at the altars of Blancmange, China Crisis, Yazoo, (early) OMD and Depeche Mode, tracks such as 'Ways to B'e and 'Some Kind of Dream' are the most swoonsome, haunting and evocative examples of the band’s chosen genre to have come our way in a long time. Juho Paalosmaa and Tomi Hyyppa lack a helium-voiced singer to help them storm the charts, La Roux-style. In a fairer world, though, that’s where they’d be.

Mark Ronson - Lose It (In the End) Feat. Ghostface Killah

Mark Ronson is back in the studio working on a new album. Okay, so this probably isn't a news flash to some of you, but for the rest of the world, it is.

Ronson's new LP, which is called Record Collection and will be released under the name of Mark Ronson and the Business, is set for release some time later this year.

But if you can't wait that long, Mark has dropped a sneak peek of what we can expect by playing 'Lose It (In The End)' - a shiny new cut featuring the man himself vocals and the mighty Ghostface on rappity-rap duty - on his 'Authentic Shit' radio show.

Of course, Ronson and Ghost are hardly strangers. The pair hooked up back in 2003 to release the party-starting 'Ooh Wee' from Ronson's first album, Here Comes The Fuzz. Ghost also showed up on an alternative version of Amy Winehouse's Ronson-produced 'You Know I'm No Good'.

As you could guess, Ronson and Ghost reunited is a good thing, although I must admit it's not what I expected.

The first listen didn't do much for me, but like all good pop music, something about it compelled me to play it again. And slowly but surely, it's starting to grow on me. So why fight it, I say? Looks like Ronson has been working on his singing too.

Ed Banger Records Announces Uffie’s New Album “Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans”

Busy P has announced the release of Uffie’s debut album Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans in June 2010 via Ed Banger/Because Music. According to the producer, the creational process for the record took approximately four years. Beats were provided by the likes of A-Team, Feadz, Mr Oizo, Sebastian and Mirwais. The project is only the fifth album on the French record label.

In addition, the label offers more visual impressions of the video for “ADD SUV” – the album’s powerful lead single featuring Pharrell Williams. Check out the images and the trailer below.

Married to the MOB Summer 2010 Movie: “Runaway Faye”

After much anticipation and yesterday’s presentation of the new Married to the MOB Summer 2010 Collection featuring Faye Regan, the New York brand follows up with the full movie that they produced for Summer 2010, entitled “Runaway Faye”. I got MOB founder and head designer Leah McSweeney to say a couple of words about the project.

“The Teasers are just to get everyone’s mouths wet wanting more. Kind of like what Faye does. The final video is totally unexpected and the teasers do not give away what it is. It isn’t a behind the scenes of the shoot. It isn’t sexually explicit. Sorry if that’s a disappointment to some! I’m really proud of this. We have done video before but nothing quite like this. It is new untouched grounds for MOB and that is part of what I love about the entire project the most.”

[New] Kele – Rise & Walk Tall

Bloc Party’s “Silent Alarm” was such a seminal turning point in the British wave of post-Strokes guitar noise that you can expect to have your online eyes overpowered by information about Kele’s forthcoming album “The Boxer”, regardless of whether your information sources think the material is actually worth listening to.

This is yet another of those posts. Struggling to establish himself as a seperate entity beyond Bloc Party, Kele last night released two more tracks from the debut album. Upon first listen, “Rise” definitely appears to be the stronger of the two, initially resembling “Intimacy” track “Signs” before lifting into an electro outro that could only have spilled from Kele’s prolific brain. “Walk Tall”, on the other hand, appears to be less promising, pounding like a recycled version of “Ares”.

There’s still a lot to hear though, and on the basis of these first three tracks, “The Boxer” could still shape up to be a really exceptional album…

So far the purveyor of authentic shit Mark Ronson’s been tight-lipped about what’s in store for the follow-up to his horned covers album Verison, though we do know it’s both fairly script-flipping for the prolific producer (no brass, no covers) while still lined with his infinite contacts (Santigold and Scissor Sisters contribute, along with MNDR, Q-Tip, Rose Eleanor Dougall, Spank Rock, and Miike Snow ). This video teases some more bits — 8 of them for the forthcoming LP with the title Record Collection: Jordan Galland and Gary Breslin go Legend Of Zelda for album-track “Circuit Breaker,” with scratches and mixes from San Fran turntablist and jazz-fusion standby (see his work with Charlie Hunter and John Scofield) Teeko. It’s the missing Link between ’80s gaming soundtrack theater and modern DJ/synth tones, with the signature Ronson backbeat fatness. As for the video: The showdown with the Level 3 Big Boss is, of course, a DJ battle.

On Valentine's Day 2008, Louis La Roche dropped 'Love', a French House banger provoking mass speculation that LLR was actually the side project of either Erol Alkan, Joe Goddard of Hot Chip or Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk. The possibility of it being produced by a Londoner called Brett Ewels seemed pretty unbelievable; not bad for a 17 year old bedroom DJ. Still only 19, Louis La Roche has an album in the works and several EP releases to his name.

Hailing from the midwest is a hip hop, electronic band, 'AudioDax'. The two members, Krypton FLO and Tremble, came together at school to create a hip hop sound heavily influenced by electronic beats and vocal stylings. Of the tracks currently streaming at their site, ‘Matter of Time,’ is definitly the strongest. The catchy tune successfully makes use of semi-autobiographical verses and an auto-tuned chorus.

The piano led opening spells a perfect summery feel that hip-hop doesn't always do for me, it's definitely a perfect song for today (if the sun is shining for you).

01 Magazine recently sat down with French outfit Kitsune for an in-depth interview. Topics include the brand’s beginnings and the owner’s journey to success. We also gain further insight into Kitsune’s music productions. The interview in its entirety can be read below, courtesy of ONEEIGHTNINE.

Why did you name your company Kitsuné, which stands for fox in Japanese?
Gildas: A fox is a beautiful furry animal with many different faces in Japanese folklore. Kitsuné is not only a clothing line but also a music label, just like the fox it has many different faces.

If you had to choose between fashion or music, which would it be?
Gildas: We didn’t want to choose because we are passionate about both these things. Which is the reason why we are doing the two activities under the Kitsuné label. We enjoy a good product whether it’s music or quality fabrics.
Masaya: Fashion and music are so connected to us. We should stop time to make this choice!

How did you meet and decide to go into partnership?
Masaya: I just graduated from architecture school. Gildas at the time had a cool record store in 1st district of Paris which I frequented often. All the French touch guys were going to the store. Because of my my regular visits in the store I became friend with DaftPunk, Pheonix, Casius, etc.etc. Daftpunk had a project that they were going to work on in Japan and during that time Gildas was their manager. They propositioned me to come over to work on the project with them. We spent a lot of time in Tokyo together. It was during this time that Gildas and I realized that we had similar ideas about starting a business with music and fashion. Our agreement to become partners was really simple.

Kitsuné has put up quite a few pop-up stores in several cities now. Milan last year, Paris and now Tokyo. Which city is next? What’s is the main reasons in doing these pop-up stores?
Gildas: We have our own Kitsuné store in Paris at 52 rue Richelieu. However, we felt it was good to travel and bring our collection to different cities in the world. At the moment we are doing a nice little pop-up store in Paris. It’s in the department store Bon Marché. We produced special garments that are all made in Brittany. We created some marine jumpers and silk scarves. They are really beautiful.
You just opened your pop up store inside Montoak in Tokyo.

Is this the first pop up shop in Japan?
Gildas: No this isn’t the first one in Japan. We also had a pop up shop in Omotesando recently in March. It was great. For this temporary store, we wanted the concept to be ‘Culture Clash’ so we manufactured some French flag products in blue, white and red but all of it was made in Japan.
Masaya: It was very successful! So many people came to visit and shop there! Since the beginning Japan has been our main ground of business. They love Kitsuné!

Where will the next pop up store be?
Masaya: New York!
Did you feel that your pop-up store presence in Colette helped bring the brand to a new level of notoriety?
Gildas: We hope so. Colette is the best store in the world and always been greatly supportive of our brand. During Paris fashion week in November we got to show Kitsuné in the store. Thanks Colette!

If you could sell the Kitsuné collection anywhere, where would it be?
Gildas: We are already selling Kitsuné clothes in a few places around the world…from New York to Seoul etc etc. Most of the clothes are sold in Japan, and we are also starting to emerge in some cities in France like Lyon or Marseilles. We would love to be more visible in London and Los Angeles maybe…

You have recently collaborated with Petit Bateau. Are there any other brands or someone who you would love to collaborate with?
Gildas: We love Thom Browne; but we may be too young for him. At the moment we are working with Pierre Hardy. Currently we have worked with Mackintosh on a “Voyageur” line and Yoshida Kaban to produce their 75 year anniversary bag. Last year we worked with the French manufacturer JM Weston to create shoes.
Masaya: The capsule collection that we made for Mackintosh raincoat called “Voyageur”is going be a Kitsuné x Mackintosh project for men; 2 collections a year. I would love to work on more feminine projects like cosmetics or womens shoes.

You’ve done everything music, clothing, collaborations… do you have any plans to design products?
Gildas: We designed a very long gingham pattern table last year with German company E15. Yes, we would be happy to do more designs in this direction!

Are there are artists out there that you feel are especially relevant right now?
Gildas: On Kitsuné’s music label, we signed this group called Two Door Cinema Club, whom we love. I listened to two seconds of their music and instantly knew that we should sign them.They are incredibly talented and have this magical way of writing classic hit pop songs. They have so much spontaneity and freshness. They are very lucky to have their youth!
Masaya: Kentaro Kobuke, he is great! Gildas and I have known him for a long time. I just saw his work a few months ago. It was amazing!

Do you both live in Paris? Is there another city you would love to live in?
Gildas: We live in Paris and we love Paris! We love New York, Tokyo and Biarritz too…any place really on the Atlantic French coast. Masaya I think loves Italia.

What music are you into right now?
Gildas: Two Door Cinema Club, Washed Out, Your Nature.
Masaya: Two Door Cinema Club

Who is your muse? Where do you get most of your inspirations from?
Gildas: Paris is our muse, but I think we get lots of inspirations from our travels too. We love to be in our office developing our projects but once in a while we get the chance to travel. It really keeps you with having an open mind.
Masaya: I get inspired when I start to work on the new collections. Of course my everyday life inspire me. I watch a lot classic American movies from the 50’s and 60’s, especially East Coast styles!
What’s your favorite food to eat?
Gildas: Croque Monsieur.
Masaya: I’m am the classic cliché of a Japanese man, so of course South-Italian food!

If you could pick a song to be the theme of your current collection, what would it be?
Gildas: We did a theme for a past collection already! We made a clothing collection using a song name from one of the bands the we represent called Cazals. The song is called “Somebody Somewhere”.
Masaya: “You really got me” by The Kinks.

If you're not familiar with the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, here's the run down via ChoiceCuts: "Hypnotic Brass Ensemble are one of a kind. Graced with soul, funk, and spirituality these guys have captivated audiences worldwide.

"Their music is a combination of all genres. With the undeniable drive of hip-hop, the freedom of rock and the melodic thread of R&B these guys are nothing short of unique.

"All band members are the sons of legendary Sun Ra trumpeter Phil Cohran. The group began performing together as children (some as early as 3 years old). In 1999 they formed what is now known as the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble and have performed or collaborated with some of the greatest musical stars of the last two decades.

Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.

This was sent to me recently by a friend, it has nothing to do with music or fashion, videos or anything but it definitely hit home for me so I wanted to spread the word. Love him or hate him, he sure hits the nail on the head with this.

Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it!

Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping -- they called it opportunity.

Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you are. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

This mix was something I picked up from record store 'random' bin many years ago, it was the soundtrack to my University life and now it holds a place right at the top of my favourite albums.

It's a collection of funk grooves, bootlegs and hip hop party anthems. As well as the track selection the album has a range of vocal overdubs lifted from old golfing video’s splattered throughout the 79 minutes adding some humour which isn't common place for mixes these days (unfortunately).

The set is predominantly old school party hip hop based, with a few detours via funk, r-n-b, and even dancehall. A quick look up on the internet indicated a few bootlegs are included, but as opposed to strapping 2 songs for novelty or shock value these bootleg/mashups are seamless to the point that it’s just as if they were meant to be.

I wont pretend that I know all the tracks, I dont, but amongst the unknowns are several radio friendly classics, and that’s the best part of a mix like this, the sudden appearance of a well known classic being looped and cut up with modern dance grooves all adds to the sheer enjoyment. Trust me on this one, this album is a perfect party soundtrack, 60+ tracks blended with this much love and attention will please any fans of the mixes by DJ Shadow, David Holmes and The Soulsavers.

Honestly, it's amazing. Enjoy it :-)

Did you skate/do you skate? What are some of your fondest memories of  skating growing up?

I used to skate a lot. I was ridiculously bad, and still am, and at any sport too. But I always enjoy to ride. Back where I come from, the skaters were the most exciting group of people. The most open minded, and stylish. They were the first ones to introduce me to very different things like… the Wu Tang (and not the rap kids) or Andy Warhol (and not the art class). Not to mention the amazing art that came along (girl, Toy Machine, etc) I started skating when the pants were enormous and the wheels very tiny.

What are your favorite skate shoes of all time?

I’ve always enjoyed those who skated in non-skate shoes like Nike, or I do remember skaters to be the first ones to pull off classic shoes like Puma clyde, before it was trendy again -we’re talking about late 90’s. I used to skate in Adidas Campus, almost completely covered in Shoe Goo. Regarding “real” sk8 shoes, I liked the ones that look simple, like non skate shoes. Like, for instance the “Simple”. I had a pair of white “Sheep”, which was made by the creators of etnies, that were kind of like Stan Smith, that I really liked. Also I really wanted a pair of simple black Kareem Campbell pro model, too. Even though I remember being in love with a girl who had an enormous pair of DC shoes, in 98, I have since then lost touch with the contemporary skate shoes.

What was the inspiration behind the etnies collaboration? Did you think about any specific silhouettes?

As I said before, the simple and “classic” look is usually what I am aiming for, shoe wise. My goal was that any member of EdRec could enjoy them, whereas there is a wide range of clothing styles within my label mates.  Given the simplicity of the upper, how important was it to create the inner dialogue with the insoles? It’s very playful, but almost hidden. Was it exciting to come up with a sort of secret?
Totally, the idea was to be more generous and fun on the parts that allowed it. I don’t want to wear shoes that are saturated with “fun” graphics, and I don’t know a lot of people who do.
Yet I still love playful graphics, and some areas allow to do this. The insole was the perfect spot for a hidden joke that anyone is free to enjoy, privately. So it’s kind of a private joke, literally.

Listen to Hot Chip and The XX Live in Washington, DC

The Fader Hot Chip at Terminal 5 here in New York, an enormous venue where they had literally thousands of people going completely bonkers, jumping, hugging, rejoicing. The XX were yet to play in such a huge clubin the US, so the sounds of crazy cheers to the first notes of their first song are a bit of a nice shock. NPR, who recorded both The XX and Hot Chip at Washington, DC’s legendary 9:30 Club, sent a reporter to intro the show, and he sounds both frazzled and wildly excited, like announcing from the red carpet of his first big movie premiere. Hot Chip and XX, though, they sound like old pros.

There is no way I am going to not listen to these songs, and I am sure you're in the same boat as me. ''Africa Must Wake Up is one of the songs from the album that I was looking forward to the most due to hype from a friend who saw this song at Rock The Bells last summer. 'Africa Must Wake Up' clocks in around 6 minutes of Nas with 2 verses, Damian on the choruses with one verse and K'Naan who does a great verse in his native Somalian tongue.

Just came across this cool 'Balearic Breeze' Mix on Let's Mix. Some brilliant tunes on there, a particular favourite of mine is the Joris Voorn Remix of Dosem's 'Beach Kisses'.

In a similar way to The Ting Tings you couldn’t help but like Operator Please, the Queensland indie-pop band who burst onto the scene a couple of years ago with ‘A Song about Ping Pong.’ At average age sixteen they found themselves thrown in the ring with Bloc Party, Arctic Monkeys and Lightspeed Champion. They now release their sophomore album ‘Gloves’ and it’s a slightly different proposition. While ‘Yes Yes Vindictive,’ was made up of immediate pop pieces, this album amps it up, brings in the funk and attempts to follow in the footsteps of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

'You aren’t allowed to talk'is my favourite song from the album, it's a lovely piece of synthy summer pop with a funky back beat.

Simply put, this has been talked about as several blog's favorite remix of all time. This is a holy grail of emotional pop perfection. "I Am Not A Robot" was already a masterful pop song in it's own right, but the Clock Opera remix takes it above and beyond, to new heights of brilliance. Keeping the blueprint of the original verses more or less intact, Clock draws you in with all manner of strings samples and dramatic piano stabs until that chorus hits, in which Connelly masterfully splices together Marina's vocals to invent a new vocal melody and an altogether new refrain of "our. love's. fading. our. love's. fading.". If you're looking for soaring choruses and emotional highs then trust me, it really doesn't get a lot better than this.

Aeroplane were the 500th act to do a set for Radio 1’s Essential Mix. Some mild outrage from the o.a.p homes on this one because they thought it was the 500th essential mix, which is like pretty important and stuff because a number = prestige. However, the o.a.p.s got it wrong and probably missed the 500th essential mix. How many have there been anyway? Who cares?! Aeroplane are really good DJ’s and this set is sweeeeeeeeeeet. New N.E.R.D. Single - Hot & Fun

An almost-two-minute snippet of N.E.R.D's never-heard-before material "Hot and Fun" has made its way out. The new track features Nelly Furtado on the hook and will apparently be featured on the upcoming release which is tentatively titled "Nothing".

The song arrival has been hinted by MTV when interviewing Pharrell Williams in late March. During the occasion, he gave update on the status of their recording session, saying "We scrapped 27 records because they weren't good enough, they sounded great - but what were they saying? So we went back in (to the studio) and just focused on feeling..."

"It's almost like we did this whole entire album with our eyes closed, not because it was that easy but because it was that important to reconnect to what we feel and I would say this album is like scrapping everything and starting with nothing."

It's got that typical N.E.R.D. sound...hazy, sexy with funky bass and drums. Definitely a step in the right direction for them. Check it out below.

New OOFT Mix

Glasgow natives OOFT! are Ali Herron & Graeme Clark. Having met through hanging about in local record stores and finding a shared passion in house, disco, 80s soul and more, they’ve been plying their trade for many years and have played in most of Scotland's clubs that matter, including the Sub Club (Glasgow), Snafu (Aberdeen), Cabaret Voltaire (Edinburgh) and The Reading Rooms (Dundee).

Never content with playing other peoples records OOFT! were early adopters of the edit, fashioning their own exclusive versions of songs specifically for their own DJ sets. In time this would unwittingly propel them to the top of the Edits 'movement', alongside Graeme's solo works as The Revenge, whilst their penchant for pitched-down house has also gained recognition through the current slo-mo craze.

As The Revenge has become increasingly in-demand both as a solo DJ and remixer, Ali has taken up more of the production reigns and regularly completes full productions under the OOFT! name, as well as taking OOFT! on the road throughout the UK to rock some of the best small clubs around with his wide-ranging and energetic sets.
